CCR 2500
The CCR 2500 is a standalone desanding unit for reverse circulation airlift drilling rigs, which recovers process water and additives directly without the need for external containers. Compact, quick to set up and designed for continuous operation.
Overview
The Conrad Compact Reclaimer 2500 has been developed for the reverse circulation airlift process and connects directly to the drilling fluid without the need for external containers. While traditional methods rely on drilling containers that must be emptied manually or using a crane, the CCR 2500 processes the drilling mud directly and continuously.
The CCR 2500 reuses process water and additives, preventing waste. Larger materials such as gravel and clay are removed from the drilling fluid, whilst sand is dried and discharged.
The Conrad CCR 2500 processes the drilling fluid in seven stages:
- The air separator separates air from the drilling fluid and reduces the speed of the drilling fluid.
- Samples can be easily taken from the drilling fluid using the automatic sampler.
- The vibrating screen separates material with a particle size of up to 2.5 mm.
- The two circulation pumps pump the finer material to the hydrocyclones.
- The two sets of hydrocyclones, eight in total, separate water and solids for further processing.
- The two shaker deck units remove water from the sand and additives, ensuring a cleaner working area.
- The clean process water is then stored in the buffer tank.
Operation convenience
From the platform, the drillmaster can easily take core samples using the automatic sampler. The flow monitoring on the digital display provides immediate insight into the circulation flow during drilling, allowing for a rapid response to changes in the process. The targeted lighting on the sand conveyor and the shaker deck ensures control over the output, regardless of lighting conditions.
Set-up is quick thanks to the adjustable support legs for levelling. An overflow in the buffer tank automatically maintains the correct level in the CCR 2500. The three hydraulically folding sand belts convey the dry material directly to a big bag or collection point.
Maintenance of the CCR 2500 has been kept simple. The screens, an essential part of the shaker deck, can be changed quickly. This ensures the drilling rig continues to drill at maximum capacity.
