Boxer 60 E-GT test drilling successfully completed
In November, we took an important step forward in the development of our Boxer 60 E-GT prototype. During a successful field test, we carried out our first test drilling at a residential property as part of the Kansen voor West innovation programme.
The test was intended to see how the installation performs in the field and where we can make further improvements. This successful test confirms that the new drilling concept works as intended and represents an important step in the further development of the machine.
For geothermal drilling at existing homes
The installation consists of a compact electric drilling rig approximately 80 centimetres wide and weighing approximately 2,800 kilograms, combined with a trailer that houses the battery packs and the desanding system. This dual-power concept has been developed for emission-free geothermal drilling in the retrofit market, at locations near existing homes where space is limited and nuisance must be kept to a minimum.
Focus on optimisation
In the coming period, we will focus on optimisations such as: total weight on trailer, programming, stability and further development of the prototype.
The development of the Boxer 60 E-GT is made possible in part by Kansen voor West and the European Union.
